VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Art leads all phases of financial management including accounting, financial reporting, loan procurement, and administration, and oversees all cash management functions for Emerald hotels. Art has served in this capacity since 2008, after spending the first 4 years with Emerald as a Director of Finance. During his tenure, Art has coordinated numerous hotel refinances and structured capital deals for development and acquisitions. He works closely with third party public CPA Firms in preparing properties’ tax returns and financial statements, and coordinates all loan compliance and reporting.
Prior to joining Emerald, Art spent 12 years in Hotel Operations with Courtyard, Residence Inn, TownePlace Suites and Fairfield Inn by Marriott, Hilton Garden Inn, Hilton and Sheraton Hotels. Art’s experience in operations includes positions as Front Office Manager, Director of Rooms, Director of Revenue, and General Manager. Art attended Bowling Green State University in Ohio and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. His “hands on” operational history plus his hotel accounting expertise provide a unique blend of experience and support to the Emerald Hospitality Team.
Brian joined Emerald Hospitality in 2011 following 6 years with National City Bank and PNC as a Financial Analyst. As Assistant Controller, Brian supports all phases of Emerald’s Centralized Accounting system through financial management for the entire Emerald portfolio. Brian has a BBA in Accounting from Cleveland State University and a strong analytical and organizational background.
CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT
Jim is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with 15 years of public accounting experience. He is president of Laudato & Company, Inc., Certified Public Accountants an independent third-party CPA firm that is an integral part of the Emerald Hospitality team. The ability to anticipate needs, offer competent advice and overall dedication to respecting clients’ time and money has earned him the trust he strives for as a CPA.
Jim is a Past-President of the Mentor Area Chamber of Commerce (MACC). He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA).
Gina joined Emerald Hospitality in 2016 with 15 years’ experience in the Finance and Accounting field. Gina works closely with each hotel’s General Manager to prepare the monthly financial statements and provides support for the financial accounting system. Prior to Emerald Hospitality, Gina worked for a publicly traded company reviewing and analyzing financial statements for company mergers and acquisitions and coordinating general ledger and operational system transitions.
