The Emerald Foundation was established in 2015 by Emerald Hospitality founder James Gerish, his wife Kris Gerish, and family. The 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization seeks to make charitable donations to causes supported by the associates at Emerald Hospitality’s hotels and at Emerald Hospitality’s corporate offices. To encourage outreach within the communities we serve and to support the efforts of our many associates who are involved in fundraising for their own passion projects, the Emerald Foundation matches funds for the contributions achieved by the hotels or associates for their selected charitable cause. With this approach to giving back, the Emerald Foundation has been able to help support both the neighborhoods and towns where our associates live as well as the causes that are important to them personally. This Spirit of Hospitality and sense of community is a core value of Emerald Hospitality and the driving force behind the Emerald Foundation. Since its inception, the Emerald Foundation has contributed thousands of dollars to a variety of organizations such as The Upside of Downs, Doctors Without Borders, Cleveland Clinic COVID-19 Emergency relief fund, Trek Across Maine, and many other charitable organizations.
